TERROIR
THE PERFECT PLACE
Filipe Palhoça Vinhos is located in Palmela, more specifically in the Poceirão area, in the heart of the wine region of the Setúbal Peninsula. In total, we currently have 112 hectares of vineyards spread over 11 properties located in Poceirão, Fernando Pó and Marateca.
The soils are sandy and we have the following varieties planted:
• Reds – Castelão, Touriga Nacional, Syrah, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Alicante Bouschet;
• Whites – Fernão Pires, Verdelho, Síria, Arinto, Chardonnay, Moscatel de Alexandria and Moscatel Roxo.
QUINTA DA INVEJOSA
Quinta da Invejosa is the most important property and where our winemaking center is located. It is located in the sand plain of Palmela, between Poceirão and Marateca, and enjoys a perfect microclimate for the vineyard: the intense sun favors the perfect ripening of the grapes, but is tempered by the basins of the Tagus and Sado rivers that give them freshness.
As a curiosity, the name Quinta da Invejosa does not come by chance. For years, the estate was forgotten, but when Filipe Palhoça’s father-in-law saw its potential, then soon appeared interested in buying it. But in this land the word spoke louder and the estate came to the family, who baptized her for the greed that she awoke.
